DTV

Inspired by such music as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Metallica, DTV a hard-hitting rock trio has been creating an original sound since 2000. Based out of Queens, NYC the band started working together because they wanted to produce an innovative, edgy, new sound with power chords and commercial melody lines. Unafraid to create songs about: hate jealously, rage or spirituality, they get their message across with a loud in-your-face delivery of their big guitars, fat bass and rhythmic drums.

Adding a smoky element with his raspy and rough vocals, Joseph Morris the lead singer and guitarist uses an aggressive edge as the front man for the group. Using his operatic training, his technique is well developed, yet uses a very hostile approach to delivering his true rock sound. Having played the drums prior to becoming a guitar player, he attacks the instrument more rhythmically and focuses more on the "groove" than other guitar players would. Additionally, because he earned his audio engineering degree, he is able to capture what DTV aims to be: Loud, heavy and in your face.

Eclectic, wild, over the edge and aggressive sums up the character that is: Robes London. An erotic bass player using his animal instinct, he plays his bass intuitively, melodically and rhythmically. Never having been formally trained, he allows his ears to guide his musical escapades. Using the fretless bass, allows him to be more up front with his sound and more creative when delivering his bass lines; because of this, DTV is not afraid of pushing the bass more in the mix. There is nothing basic about this bass player.

Last but not least, the backbone of the group: James Cuffaro. James took his musical career very seriously at an early age, going from a classical percussionist in his high-school band, to a full time music college, and finally to drummers collective in NYC. Along with formal drum training, he was taught composition and arrangement, so his contribution to DTV is hardly one of just your typical drummer. He tries to approach his drum parts with a balance of spontaneity, originality and technicality while still keeping the elements of his Metal upbringing apparent, HITTING HARD! Having formed DTV with singer Joseph Morris, their chemistry was instant and the addition of Robes London just fortified this bands unique sound. Attitude, energy, and passion are what this drummer is all about.

With all of their live and studio experience, DTV is effectively delivering their message and building their fan base in NYC and are now on the move to Vancouver, BC. They’re becoming more daring and dangerous in their music everyday: So don’t change the channel, just turn it up!
