THERE FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND THERE HERE TO HELP

After 11 years with Armed and Hammered, (1989- 2003 RIP) Mopa Dean left the band and took a short hiatus. In July of 2002, he linked up with long time acquittance Dabz (Viking Division, The Fall River Fiends) from Queen St. Way cool Tattoos and started jamming out the bands.

The original test line up included Mopa (vox), Dabz (Guitar), Nilan Pereira (Guitar), (Handslang, The Excalceolators, NOMA, Cinnamon Sphere) Harry Simpson (Drums) (Masochistic Religion, Love Bomber) and Radio buddy Scott Stevens (Bass).

Looking to fine tune the direction of the Band, Jamie G (Guitar). (Alpha Q, Infernal Majesty) "Mad" Nick Tops (Drums) (Best Bitter and the Lagger Louts-U.K.), joined the crew in early October. The G-Men Were Born.

With the help of long time cohort and drinking buddy of Mopes, Shane Gerrard, secured them there Debut Gig with Punk Rock Veterans "Teenage Head" at "Healyes" in Toronto. Other gigs followed shortly with Random Killing, Armed and Hammered, Murder Squad T.O., and Dirty Bird to name a vary few.

In December 2002, The G-Men hooked up with Rob Sanzo of Signal to Noise to start recording there first release "Rehab is for Quitters"

By December, The G-Men were now spreading there form of "Full Frontal Assault, Decapitation Strike, Death Punk Rok" through Toronto. After setting up a show in Toronto at Sneaky Dees with Long time partner and brother in Punk Crimes, Uncle Costa (Blood Sausage) The G-Men Arranged to have Vulgar Deli spread their demon Psyco-Punk Rok Spawn once again in the Town, Vulgar Deli reciprocated in binging The G-Men to Montreal to play at long time haunt and hang out of Mopes "Foufounes Electric"

With the untimely passing of Joe Strummer of the Clash, The G-Men decided to pay tribute by organizing and hosting the Main Toronto Tribute to Joe at the Horseshoe Tavern in February 2002.

In March of 2003, Scott, was replaced by Dave Only on Bass, with the line up now up once again, The G-men have returned to their previous Hard Core terror.

"Rehab is for Quitters" was completed in March and is now being planned for release in mid summer 2003, as well there are plans in the works to have 2 more releases by the end of the year, including excerpts from the Joe Strummer Tribute, and a comp of live shows by the Band.

Still not satisfied with their recent clandestine Ops in the world of Punk rok, The G-Men have now taken on the task of hosting and organizing the "First Punk Rok Festival" at North by North East... In Toronto.

Mopes recently returned to the stage with Armed and Hammered to bid the lads farewell on there final show. April 17th at Sneeky Dees.
