Joykamp
Not Yet Rated Alternative | RockIn January of 2003, Vancouver Canada witnessed the manifestation of a new and potent force. Joykamp had formed and began the process that would have them expressing a well-refined message of intelligently aware truth. A four piece, heavy, aggressive alternative, politically intelligent, and fiercely righteous rock band with a message and a voice, played to their first adrenalin saturated audiences. Soon after, Joykamp hit the studio to crystallize the first three instruments of ignorance''s demise. This pro demo, produced by Larry Anschell, of Biff Naked, Pearl Jam, and Nickelback notoriety, had the desired effect. They took the top position in the Vancouver seeds competition and garnered heavy rotation on local rock radio. The industry and public alike took notice of Joykamp, as television, radio and print interview requests poured in. Joykamp started gigging at all the right venues, wowing the crowds and developing into a seasoned, well polished, headline act known for intensity and the sheer ability to deliver the goods. All the while, Joykamp continued to forge their masterwork, writing and rehearsing endlessly. With Dave Tull on bass, Colin Harris handling percussion, Mike Wood on guitar and Rik Kiviaho unleashing the vocals, Joykamp chiselled out a hard thumpin, chunky, funky socio-politically conscious vibe, delivered with a raging poetic flare. Early in 2005, several of Joykamp''s tracks were featured on the North Shore Extreme 8, mountain bike video "Cease And Desist". In March of 2005 they received special invitations to headline three shows for the Canadian Music Week conference in Toronto Canada, and were flown out for a successful eastern trip. Also in March of 2005, Joykamp released their debut album "Fear The Future". A concept album, practically an initiation into reality, it''s well written, developed, and treats the listener to all the anger, and heartfelt truth they can handle. Also produced by Larry Anschell at Turtle Studios, this soulful work is designed to express that deep seated feeling that the reality most of us see is a diabolical illusion constructed to enslave the masses, and to invoke the full on rage that comes with the realisation of the message of truth that Joykamp brings. To all the punks, hard rockers, metal heads, the extreme sports community, and aware, intelligent, socially conscious people everywhere, buck up little kampers, Joykamp''s got what you need!Website: http://www.joykamp.com
