The most awesomest band ever!! When they play it's like everyone else disappears and it's hard to even remember stresses of the day.

Performing the songs of singer/songwriter Matt Hanlon, This melodic art-rock foursome has been stirring up the dust that settled in Kingston after The Tragically Hip’s explosion. Originally formed as an acoustic act in 2000 by Hanlon and guitarist Zane Whitfield, adding Jon Midwood and Shayne Bampton in 2002, betablokka provides a powerful performance captivating audiences with memorable songs and a passion for being on stage.

Becoming the first unsigned band added to regular rotation on Kingston FM radio, Betablokka’s first single “In & Out & Away” is currently being played on a growing number of campus and commercial radio stations across Ontario including peaking at #7 on K-ROCK 105.7’s most requested songs and being named “Listeners Choice” five nights in a row on Belleville’s Mix 97.1.

The band’s first CD has sold more than 1000 copies to date and is garnering positive reviews from the media, also being nominated in the “Emerging Artist” category by the Kingston Arts Council in their 2004 Awards.

Previously supporting acts including The Tea Party, Mick Taylor, Pilate, The Dears and The Trews to a rapidly expanding fanbase, Betablokka is set to take to the road in the summer of 2004.
