Ellen Carol & Some of the Parts
Not Yet Rated Blues | Country | Drinking | Folk | Guitar | Harmonica | Pop | Rock | Spoken Word | VocalThis past year has presented Ellen Carol with a plethora of opportunities. After meeting and impressing the owner of Joey Burke Studios with her demo recording of “Summer Wind” he agreed to take her latest project. Returning to Toronto and the studio with fresh views and production ideas “Buttercup Hamsterjuice” was realized July 2004. Inspired by working with a producer who encouraged her creativity, she delved into her diverse influences. When listening to “Carpe Diem” and “Treading Water” you can feel her love of Eric Clapton’s guitar lick’s and Janis Joplin’s passionate vocals. “Dirty Girl” and “The Danger in Fishing” complimented with the steel guitar and harmonica transport the listener to a warm country evening inspired by the styling of Sheryl Crow. “I’m Leaving” takes the listener on a rhythmic lullaby. Ellen’s time spent in Central America has influenced the production of “Catnip” and “5 Senses”. Ellen’s recent interest in jazz and R&B help to create “Kissing on Bridges”. All of this somehow fits together with the string that is her lyrics. Since 1990 Ellen has been addicted to taking her music on the road. Through Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Belize, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Fiji, Korea, Japan, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Thailand and Laos, Ellen has shared her songs. In turn she was given the experiences that have enhanced her lyrical and musical style.Ellen Carol spent 2003 touring in Costa Rica promoting and selling her Cd “Earth Child” with great success. Ellen Carol is currently performing in Toronto and the surrounding area with her band "Some of the Parts" while promoting her current release “Buttercup Hamsterjuice” “If you just let go ... a little bit. Take a trip with the summer wind. Let it push you to the limit of your existence. Let it pull you across the line.” Summer Wind from “Buttercup Hamsterjuice” Website: http://www.ellencarol.ca
