Octante
Not Yet Rated TechnoTassany Zimmerman and Mathew Steinke have stumbled upon something more then just mere music. Together they have, through the compilation of voices, noise, bleeps and screeches, created a truely refreshing, low-fi alternative.
Their latest release on indie groundbreaking Up Records, Shock-No-Par, is catching the ear of bored critics and music fans alike. Highlighted in this mad lab of sounds is Steinke's own creation, the octant. More than simply a drum machine, the octant is a Macintosh-controlled, computerised drummer churning out everything from punk vibes and lounge sounds to psychotic Beatlesque pleasure and 80's computer game flashbacks.
