The Imbayakunas ... Outstandi
posted in Imbayakunas by Ditzy_Gal The most awesomest band ever!! When they play it's like everyone else disappears and it's hard to even remember stresses of the day. |
Scott B. Sympathy
Alternative | Country | Folk | RockScott B. first burst onto Toronto's Queen St music scene as a member of local favorites GROOVY RELIGION. He went on to form his own band "The Sympathy", being dubbed "Scott B. and The Sympathy". Yet somewhere along the way "Scott B. Sympathy" stuck as both his stage name and the name of the band. After the release of his debut album under the Sympathy moniker "Neil Yonge Street", critics hailed Scott B as a singer-songwriter to be reckoned with. He soon developed a cult following particularly after the title track off his second record "Drinking With The Poet" became a CFNY radio hit. By the third album "Long Way Down" The Sympathy had come to the attention of True North Records who signed the band and released Long Way Down to much critical success. But internal restructuring of True North left Scott B. without a label to release the incredible "Unfinished Sympathy" his fourth album to date. Scott, along with friends Chris Burland and Dave Flexer, decided to start their own label and Bobby Dazzler Records was born. Many critics heralded Unfinished Sympathy as a masterwork and it appeared on many top album of the year lists.Scott's gift for crafting songs has lead him to be chosen as the opening act for many musical greats including Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Fugazi, Blue Rodeo, Cowboy Junkies to name but a few. With everything that’s hurtin’ in a ballad and everything that’s twangy in a rebel song, Scott B has become an institution in certain smokey roots-twang alt country circles, even before alt country had any circles. Truly a huge talent in the genre of the singer-songwriter. Website: http://www.cestwhat.com/music/scottb.asp
