Reid Jamieson
Not Yet Rated Country | Folk | Pop | RockTORONTO 2003 - Recently named "One of the most underrated talents in town" (Now - Jan.24, 2002) Reid Jamieson''s voice and engaging performances have been turning heads for several years.Reid''s former pop-rock band Alvy played around the Toronto music scene for eight years gathering a devoted audience and respect from peers. Their first release "No Assembly Required" (''94) was produced by Dave Bidini of the Rheostatics. Since going solo, Reid has shared the stage with the likes of Hayden, Greg Keelor and Skydiggers, as well as putting his musical abilities to use backing up Canadian talents like Blue Rodeo’s Bob Egan, The Swallows and Bodega. Much like his inspirations (The Beatles, Neil Finn, Elvis), his appeal spans generations and genres, allowing him to work with a variety of different artists. His first solo album, COWLICK BRAVADO, independently released in November of 2001, was performed, produced and written entirely by Jamieson. This charming nine song cd showcases a mixture of pop, folk, old country and rock and was most certainly a labour of love. This time Reid will hand himself over to producer Josh Finlayson (Skydiggers, Gord Downie) and record in Guelph with Lewis Melville and Dave Clarke. The new album, set for release mid 2003, will showcase Reid’s skillful guitar playing and songwriting abilities, along with some of Canada’s finest on piano, banjo, and pedal steel, as well as the lovely voice of miss Mia Sheard. A cross-country and UK tour are in the works, so please stay tuned for more from this tender troubadour. please contact carolyn v. mill for further media info: cvm@kitchenink.com Website: http://www.reidjamieson.com/
