Not Yet Rated Alternative | RockFormerly known as Black Francis, and before that Charles Thompson, Black is to indie what Elvis was to rock’n’roll, influencing everyone from the late Kurt Cobain to Vancouver’s own Matthew Good Band. Though the Pixies legend has grown tenfold since their break-up, Black has managed to step out of their shadow more than any other member, producing the same intelligent, witty and strangely perverse music that lit the fire of college rock in the eighties.
