The Naked Apes
Not Yet Rated AlternativeAs one of their songs testify, the Naked Apes are indeed, “kickin’ it phat in their habitat.” However, the indigenous “habitat” of the Naked Apes can no longer support the insatiable appetites and genetic predisposition for dominance that characterizes this species. Indeed, the Apes are expanding their niche with every passing day, depleting natural resources, raiding crops, and interbreeding with local populations spawning hybrid minions. Ultimately, there can be “no escape from their savage wrath.” This new breed of primate can be identified by its distinctive cultural traits, among which music plays a central role. It would seem that these performative displays involving singing, dancing, and the copious consumption of alcohol, act as a kind of ritual center around which tribal life revolves. There is also a procreative dimension to these performances indicative of a kind of mating ritual. Indeed, as one prominent anthropologist studying this phenomenon has written regarding one of these “Ape-ins:” “One could almost describe the ape-in as an exercise in aural sex…the worshippers, evidently brought to a transcendental apogee of spiritual and physical fulfillment, flail about in a state of frenzied mass consciousness that has a distinctively orgiastic quality.” Those interested in these surprising evolutionary and cultural developments would be advised to witness this phenomenon first-hand at any live performance of the Naked Apes, which are, thankfully, open to the public. Though they come from the outskirts of life, they are at your window…Let them in!The Naked Apes are… The Reverend Dick Terror: Guitar Evangelist The Reverend Dick Terror: Guitar Evangelist is both the principle songwriter and de facto spiritual leader of the Naked Apes. Coming soon to a pulpit near you, The Reverend Dick and his pop apostles are poised to proselytize his “rocktrine” of universal ape-hood to all the non-believers out there. Preach the love. Mow Cack: Bass Scoundrel Aside from his extensive responsibilities as bassist and driver of the Naked Ape “vanana,” Mow Cack: Bass Scoundrel is also a master service technician and proudly sports a commemorative cap to prove it. Though a 6’9” behemoth, he is a gentle giant and will not hurt you. Klinedog: Leg Humper Klinedog: Leg Humper is the Naked Apes’ beer-addled, oft-absent keyboardist. He is also an ass-sniffing, crotch-licking, bitch-monger. Though some find his down-home, Huron County ways and rural twang unsettling, his effervescent personality and winning smile are sure to charm even the most discerning of audiences. E-Man: White Trash-tafarian E-man: White Trash-tafarian is the most recent convert to Naked Apism. Though his sexual prowess and blonde ambition are the stuff of legend, the E-man is, ultimately, a shy, sensitive, small-town boy who desperately wants to be loved and accepted by a cosmopolitan mass-audience. He is fast on his way to achieving this end: his Sinatra-esque blue eyes and emotionally-charged vocal stylings have already won the hearts of many a lady ape in the Fraser Valley area. He is also the proud father of two Naked Apelings. Chip Fish: Suburban Samarai When not providing the complex polyrhythmic textures central to the Naked Apes’ sonic assault, Chip Fish: Suburban Samarai is secretly training in his underground bunker, honing his skills in the dark arts through a rigorous regimen of meditation, morphine suppositories, and sexually provocative poses.
