Bill Perry
Not Yet Rated BluesBill Perry ranks among the best of a new generation of blues performers, blending his stunning mastery of the guitar and rough-hewn blues voice into a remarkable package. His music refelects his New York City sensibility-big city street attitude, grit, diversity and power. His brand of robust blues carries strong characteristics of rock but equal soul and folk influences, resulting in a slightly swampy cross between Bob Segar, Freddie King, Little Feat and the Allman Brothers.Perry backed Richie Havens from 88 to 92 and toured Europe with Rick Danko and Garth Hudson of the Band in 89. In 1992 he became a mainstay act at New York`s, Manny`s Car Wash and in 95 Point Blank/Virgin released his first album "Love Scars" followed by "Greycourt Lightning" on the same lable in 1998. "High Octane", a live album was released on Car Wash Records in 99 and in 2001, Bill moved to Blind Pig. His first album on BP was produced by Jimmy Vivino of "The Conan O`Brian Show". "Fire It Up" was then followed by his most recent studio venture "Crazy Kind Of Life". The new recording is a natural progression of his continued growth as an artist and is his most complete and self assured release to date. Jimmie Vivino and Paul Orofino produce and Vivino co- writes the material with Bill Perry with the exception of Richie Haven`s outstanding performance of the Stone`s, "No Expectations".
