Lisa Winn began to develop her vocal ability in high school, beginning with lead roles in musical theatre productions. After high school, she began working with local Hamilton, Ontario bands, performing largely in the Hamilton area. In 1995, Lisa met transplanted Californian singer/songwriter Rob Lamothe and began a long-standing collaboration serving as harmony vocalist. During this time, Lisa also worked extensively as a support vocalist on a wide variety of recording projects. In 1996, Lisa and two other Hamilton musicians joined Rob Lamothe on a trip to Europe to promote Rob’s latest European release, there starting to develop a small fan base for her own voice. In the summer of 1999, Lisa joined Rob on their first tour of Western Canada. Lisa would return to Europe two more times, in 2000 with Rob, and again on her own in 2001, each time gathering more European fans.

In August of 2000, Lisa released her debut solo cd "Mother Earth." It was widely acclaimed being reviewed in magazines and web sites in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. The cd was produced by Rob Lamothe and includes two co-writes with him. The title track "Mother Earth" was written by maverick Canadian songwriter, Ray Materick. Professor Mike Daley''s song "Wishing on the Moon" rounds out the 6 remaining songs written by Lisa. This CD marked her debut as a songwriter. The cd includes musicians such as Jamie Oakes, who plays guitar for Amy Sky, Holly Cole and Tom Cochrane. Les Cooper, who played guitar for Holly McNarland and Andy Stochanskey. Many other very talented musicians also lent a hand in the creation of "Mother Earth." To date, more than 1000 copies of the cd have been sold.

In 2002, Lisa hooked up with 3 other female singer songwriters and embarked on the "Mother Folker Tour." Lisa, Janine Stoll, Melissa McClelland and Erin Smith toured from Toronto to Halifax and back with shows along the way. They performed their own material "in the round", backing each other up with harmonies and minimal instrumentation. The success of this tour prompted them to continue playing and recording together. They are now known as the "Ladybird Sideshow."

Currently, Lisa is working on her second solo cd to be named "Out From Under", due for release in April 2003.
