It's a shame you haven't enjoyed the booking we have done at The Pic this year. FYI: there are several people sharing the booking duties, so at times it may appear a little odd, but this keeps it interesting, if not consistent. In my defence, I believe I have thrown down more than a few smoking rock shows, none of which have been shut down (everyone from The Gaza Strippers to The Yo Yo's to The Nekromantix to The Load Levellers, to our own New Town Animals and Bughouse 5). I have been doing shows at the Pic for at least three years, and believe I have contributed to Vancouver's at times lack-lustre music scene by booking the top local acts, and bringing in quality touring groups.For better or worse, not everybody shares the same taste in music, so no matter what, I'm sure to have given some folks out there reason slam my booking...that's just the way it is. the picadilly sure is crap, but the venues are dropping like fries. Its a shame you have to kiss ass to a venue like the Pic to play, but as soon as you see a great show with some originallity and excess energy , they shut it down. This is NOT the place to ROCK. if you have a pop band its perfect. The bandfest was lacking too. but mainstream pop will always win the norm. POOH!
