Your situation made me think of the smalls. They had catchy-hook songs, several c.d.'s selling "well", tons of merchandise selling even better (they made most profit here) and a huge following in Canada and Europe for over 10 YEARS. They folded a year or 2 ago because they had it with doing EVERYTHING themselves and NEVER getting a break on MAINSTREAM radio. They considered this contributed DIRECTLY to their inability to ever get a record deal, and a "break" into the U.S. These do seem to go hand in hand, which does commonly = money. Mainstream radio told them their sound was too "heavy." College and University radio loved them and these were their best shows but money never amounted to allowing them to take a break and sit back and enjoy. They had to fucking tour NON-STOP. All profit went back to either their shitty bus, recording costs (at "pay extra" GREENhouse), or distribution expenses of which they were robbed approx. $15.000 when CARGO folded. I think they were too "independent" for mainstream in their attitude, non-conformist, and I wonder if they had been on the radio ALL the time, would I have liked them? eg. Nickelback/Default/Matt Good concerts repel me. So they retired pissed off but I know how much they were loved and respected by possibly 10's X 1000's of people. It's a tuff call. You could pump out two 3 minute pop-ditties (this should take about 6 minutes of your time), send them to radio, let them play on the top-hit count-downs, and on the REST of the album (not recorded at hold-for-ransom GREENhouse) as YOU like. and don't play the pap songs live. and MILK the States for every penny they owe us anyway. or be underground and underpaid. make extra-income doing XXXtra-curricular jobs. What I KNOW is this city will be more fun, when there is no more guessing and everyone is fucking creamy, sticky and wet by ADHEREING to their self-defined committed path of Passion.

The polls are in.commercial RADIO HATES the song NO FUN CITY...written tonge and cheek by writter L. Wayne...I dont think so. No wonder the Fox wont support it. I do slam the fuckin City and the shit scene. Sure there is come kool stuff here, radio dont like the truth and the song isnt even that harsh. Its more about a muscians struggle living here than it is about politics. They never understood Mr. Pink a band started by Lee Wayne and Doug Donut and they dont get Killswitch...our web-site will be up soon under www.rated-r-recordz.com and you can download the song along with songs like Rollin Hard which I play Guitar on and do back vocals for a friend of mine..Fuck You Vancouver Centre..LAW from KIllswitch 2003...all invited to say your opinion on this MATTER..please REPLY TO THIS...D ya out there
