You seem to be forgetting that most of these places are shutting down or changing their atmosphere. Its good to have hopes that things will improve. Richards on Richards is probably the best place for sound and atmoshere.

Oddly enough, one of the bands I'm in has played exactly three shows since forming a few months ago, and all of them have been at the Railway. It's actually pretty easy to get a gig there, but you really have to hound Janet sometimes or she'll never call or e-mail you back.

the commodore above all. the Roxy's ok, if you like playing for free. the SONAR should put a PA back in to renew the old TownPump rock glory days. the Royal's alright but gouge their bands for $100 to cover the house sound guy, why don't they pay him, they're selling all the booze?! the Side Door is showing support & potential in an intimate venue. the Railway is just as conceited as ever, it takes nearly 2 years to break into its gig circulation! Boo!
