I think If you want a good local music scene Bands SHOULD NPT PLAY FOR FREE
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRO AND AMATEUR
WHY WOULD AUDIENCES WANT TO LISTEN TO OR LOOK AT AMATUR MUSICIANS MOST WITH NO BUSINESS ON STAGE AS THEY ARE NOT RIPE NOR READY
THE EGO IS OUT OF HANDMUSIC IS ABOUT SPIRIT UNLESS YOU CAN BE BACKED BY THOSE WITH POWER AND $$$$ AND SING HALF NAKED LIKE MS. SPEARS
SERIOUSLY CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS AUDITION THE BANDS BEFORE YOU"HIRE" THEM
THIS HAS RUINED THE NUSIC SCENE HERE AMATEURS ON STAGE STINKING UP GHE VENUES
PRACTISE REHEARS MUSIC IS A BUSINESS MUSICIANS SHOULD RECIEVE MORE RESPECT
AND THIS SITE IS INDICITATIVE OF THE FREE FOR ALL STYLE THAT DISABLES PROS AND HELPS NOBODY!!!!

I'm working on ideas right now for the Vancouver music scene. We all know it sucks so something has to be done. I'll let Vancouver bands know about it soon, once everythings in place. Some bands already know about it. Here's hoping it works too. Cross youir fingers.

Good idea... but what'll happen when the clubs realize they can make more money with canned dance music?
Oh wait, most of them DO realize that already...

Three magical words baby.... Domestic Disturbance Festival!
Yeah, they blame us for poor promotion, what about...no big headliners to get peoples attention. The fact that RadioHead, and REM were playing the same weekend, as well as that huge festival in Seattle featuring KORN and POD etc... X FM were out at the PNE promoting the fair - when they should've been on site telling everyone to get their asses down for a great party! I am truly hardened and disappointed in this fucking no good city. You have to beg to get a show and then get paid a couple dollars for your troubles! I think every Vancouver band should strike - and let the clubs know who the real bread and butter are.
