Here is something the Herald printed the other day (Yes from me):
So it's election time again. BOR-ING. I thought about starting a new political Party: The Common Decency Party. My motto would be "The Most Simple Party" because every platform resolution would refer to the time-tested, proven and true Golden Rule of (in updated terminology): "Treat others as you would like to be treated." I agree with B.J. Thomas' in his "Billy and Sue" song that not to do this is "to be a fool." But I could never enter politics. For one thing I've never managed to get my hair styled in the way that miraculously doesn't move. I've never been inclined to join clubs that require fee's. I like "Free Admission" events like art shows, libraries, festivals, book readings, speakers forums, musical performances, dances, farmers markets, Pow wows, parks, yard sales. I like reading for pleasure and to gain knowledge. Not to memorize. I like to speak when I have a question or something helpful to say. Not to hear my husky voice and recitation abilities. I like to ask if people need help. I don't like creating situations which will ensure that people will need help. I don't like wasting money on unnecessary food and clothing, and I don't pollute the environment to make money. I don't have the ambition to be over-fed, over-educated and under-experienced. I like to get my hands dirty without having to hide them. Without having to pay someone to hide them. I like having my own opinions. I like to speak without preparation or looking around for cues. Without thought of "proper", "policy", or "votes." I like to do things that matter to my life, not only to my Party supporters. In fact, the only thing I seem to have going for me - as far as politics go - is that my blue shirts become amazingly trendy during these campaign seasons. It looks like I'll deface my ballot same as always, by scrawling "They don't support me" somewhere on it. Politics - it's the same old song and dance. So old we consider Stephen Harper young. So old the youth can't feel a beat (should someone call 911?) So old they've forgotten a song and dance requires music (harmony). If I ever start my C.D. (Common Decency) Party, it may be just to prove how fast I'd be banned from the running.

no need to be confused, her new c.d. comes in a convenient 2-in-1 country and pop version package. (this is challenging to type out, nevermind comprehend) by the way - did you know Madonna is changing her name to ESTHER? ... if you come to South Cuntry Fair you can see my real body, so far I've re-written the Canadian Anthem for the occasion "....our home on native land, true patriot love, rules out the matriarch..." I'm playing tonight @ the Mocha Cabana, next week - DOA plays in this fair city @ the Starlight Lounge.
