Like every other band in the world

Hi Shine friends and family and everyone else out there! I thought I'd better write to you all and explain what's been going on with Shine...

Well, like every other band in the world, the famous ones, the not so famous ones, the bands that you will never hear of because they never made it out of Mom and Dad's basement... We got a little frustrated and took a little break (in other words we broke up). Matt's sister, Laura, came aboard and tried to fill the Shine lead singer shoes but soon realized that she has a very unique voice of her own and should probably be promoted as "Laura" not the lead vocals of Shine.

I (Jeff) have been working with Laura and will continue to due so ,because I believe in her...

Matt went onto another little project with some mutual musician colleagues the "Black Powder Toys" and is working with them to complete there debut CD.

Neil has a quiet little project that he enjoys on Sundays...

and Marnie has been singing and writing with many others as well , perfecting her craft as a musician.

The geat producer/engineer, Kevin Williams, of Hot Sole Music (Studio) contacted us and made us realize that we should stay together and record another album. We recorded "Gently Insane" with Kevin and it felt right to continue the Shine recordings with him. He has excellent facilities, he is great to work with, and his experience in the studio, and as a musician, makes Kevin the "5th" member of the band.

I could ramble on, but for now I would just like to say that Shine will return!! We are writing new material, gathering together new photographic images, and are creating a new web site just to keep everything fresh.

We are extremely excited to start over again and we are so lucky to have the support from all of you and from Kevin Williams to want us back in his studio again. We have great faith in ourselves and the Shine "Team" and we know you won't be disappointed with the next album.

Thank You all again... and you will be hearing from us soon...

Jeff Fairbank (the guitar guy) : - )
