Fantastic! Not typical of other CD's in whch there are usually only a few nice songs. Every song within this album is exceptional.

ÿLilith Fair at Ambleside in West Vancouver.ÿ

Lilith Fair is a traveling music festival that promotes women in music and business. It was founded in 1997 by West Vancouver resident Sarah McLachlan with Terry Mc Bride of the Nettwerk Music Group ( and a whole slew of others ).ÿ The tour has female acts or female fronted bands on their roster, changing the line up in each city along the way. The fair has raised millions of dollars for womens a number of different charities over the years.ÿ

ÿDespite the clouds and the lack luster line up, the show went on without a hitch. Unless of course you had to wait in line for hours to get ÿfood or drinks, only to find out they were sold out or you couldn't afford the 5 dollar hotdog after a 2 hour wait in line .

By the time contemporary country singer songwriter Colbie Caillat hit the stage the sun was shining and the crowds were dawdling in.ÿ

Erikha Badhu was sensational , strutting onto the stage wearing a black top hat and a weather appropriate off white trench coat. Badhu's set was flawless she has a great voice, the moves and the stage presence to back it all up!

Sugarland was awesome , their set was driven from the get go. Jennifer Nettles ripped the stage up, brandishing Sugarland's version of country infused rock...it made me want to buy a ticket the next time they come to town. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sheryl Crow rocked the park, playing her biggest hits. Sheryl kicked the festival into high gear with her stage and musical moxie. She finished her set with a ballsy version of Led Zepplin's,ÿ "Rock and Roll ", hitting the ball right out of the park right into left field.ÿ

Sarah was in fine form as usual, she started her set with the " Arms of An Angel " a heartfelt and somewhat sobering song, that's meant to make you think ....... Sarah's latest release Laws of Illusion has done quite well in the charts so far, this album is a bit bluesier, upbeat and brighter than her last few releases.

This years event at West Vancouver's prestigious Ambleside Park, was just OK. It's too bad this years lineup for Lilith wasn't a bit more cutting edge and or current, it all seemed a bit dull and not so bright. Sadly Metric and Cat Power were not on the roster for the Vancouver Lilith Fair gig, nor was Gossip from Portland another really cool band that was slotted be on the Lilith tour bus.Ticket sales were a bit slow for the Vancouver show , probably due to the aforementioned bands not being included for the Vancouver gig. Apparently 12 other concert dates were canceled including Montreal.ÿ

The night came to an end with collective performance by the Lilith musicians followed by and some skookum fireworks from downtown lighting up Lionsgate Bridge and to the west from John Lawson Park, I didn't know which way to look east or west ....the light show was spectacular.
