I haven't seen The Pic that packed in a long time....nice to see people out for an evening of unforgiving rock, on a Sunday night. The Nasty On were the first to hit the stage and from the onset it was full throttle. Definitely not new to the Vancouver scene, the Nasty On continue to infuse. Up next The Catheters from Seattle. They were ok. Fast.........

The Gaza Strippers are indeed worth being crammed into the pic for a few hours they are no ordinary act. Unforgiving rock, with incredible energy. A recent release and a European tour with the Swedish band Gluecifer under their belts, the Gaza Strippers were ready to rock our world. The band has put out a 13 song album, available on CD or Vinyl. I can't wait to listen to the CD, (a friend bought one, if I had more cash I would have readily invested in a copy ). "1000 Watt Confessions" is the name of the CD, in case your looking for it.

The guitars rip, Mike siphones every last note from the strings. Pure power behind the kit, Mark Allen has a solid meter and flair, how he handles the back up vocals is beyond me. "Sex and the Drifter" was a sweet song, fat bass line, rumbling and riding the guitars . Rick Simms can really sing, he has a strong voice, dynamics and range, the songs are demanding and chalked full of melody. "Sex And The Drifter" and "Transistor" were my pics of the night. Mind-numbing. One of the best bands I've seen in months, and I see a lot of bands.
