Lions in The Street @ The Red Room July 15 Th 2006 Lions In The Street have played with the likes of The Kings of Leon and Jet. Last Saturday night the band played the Red Room downtown. Lions in The Street are all about old school rock based in rhythm and blues .No looping or sampling here, just straight ahead rock and roll for the masses. They do indeed sound like the rolling stones …should. Following up after their gig Saturday at The Red Room, I chatted with Chris from the band. I was wondering what the band had planned next; here is what he had to say, ‘ We've got a show at the Cobalt on August 19th, with Pride Tiger. And we're playing a string of US shows in September, ending in LA at the Key Club on September 12th. Off to the UK in October, then NYC and US East Coast in November’. The band has unleashed a new recording…. ‘ Cat Got Your Tongue ‘ a 5 song EP recorded here in Vancouver on some very old gear. Incidentally the vintage gear lent itself quite nicely to the bands raw rock and roll sound. Lions In The Street have made ‘’ Cat Got Your Tongue ’ available for free on their website.
