The Arcade Fire @ Deer Lake Park ...on May 24th (for those of you who don't know May 24 th is one of the most celebrated holidays in Quebec)"Saint-Jean-Baptiste"also Flag day.. The Arcade Fire are from the east and they were clearly in a festive mode. They are all fantastic musicians and together they have a special sound. There are moments when I hear hints of Harmonium, songs like Dixie and En Plein Temps/ Hints of Fiori et Sequin and perhaps clips of Beau Domage. Not say that the band doesn't have their own sound, simply they were clearly influenced by the music their folks grew up with. The Arcade Fire put on a great show; they are lively charismatic and solid. Next time they blow thru town, buy a ticket and check out this unit!
