Tickets are selling quickly so grab your early! They are available at the Aitken Centre box office, by calling (506) 454-ECMA (3262), or online at www.ecma.com.
(Fredericton, NB) – The East Coast Music Association announced today the lineup for the ECMA 2008 Discovery Stage, which will be located at Sweetwaters on King Street in Fredericton during the East Coast Music Awards, Festival and Conference. Formerly known as the 72-Hour Jam, the Discovery Stage will showcase live acts from all over the East Coast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of ECMA weekend.
The Discovery Stage is just that – a showcase where music industry representatives can come “discover” the next big thing in East Coast music. Record deals have been signed and tours have been arranged, all based on one performance at the ECMA Discovery Stage!
Well established East Coast bands like The Trews, The Jimmy Swift Band, Slowcoaster, Vishten, the Cottars, JP Cormier and Buck 65 have performed at the ECMA Discovery Stage. Some artists go on to showcase at ECMA official stages the following year, and ECMA Music Award nominations and performances at the Music Awards Gala can follow suit.
The showcase has received a facelift this year, with a new name and a new format. No longer will acts be booked in the wee hours of the morning when industry reps are scarce. Instead, the Discovery Stage will run from noon to 8pm on Friday, 10am to 10pm on Saturday, and 10am to 3pm on Sunday. This gives all showcasing bands an equal opportunity to “get discovered.”
Tickets for the Discovery Stage are free to the public and all ECMA delegates. Come out and discover the new generation of East Coast talent!
The full Discovery Stage schedule can be found here.
