Ladytron, UK's sonic storytellers

Ladytron at the Commodore Ballroom
Red lights flashed to expose two thin beauties who appeared draped in black, perfect silhouettes. Mira Aroyo (vocals) and Helena Marie (vocals & keys), are only one half of Ladytron, UK's sonic storytellers. Completing the picture are Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu. All share the responsibility of playing keys, synth, and rhythm boxes to create a very unique electronic sound that has been compared to Air, Stereolab, and even today's answer to Euro-synth like Kraftwerk and New Order.
Alternating between the soothing ethereal lullaby of Marie's voice and Aroyo's vocal apathy suited the bright lights, silhouettes, and glaring gold backdrops. If you closed your eyes, you could feel the strobe lights flicker against your eye sockets. The Commodore's disco-balls shined, and it felt like sleepwalking through electro-magic. Ladytron put the audience in a state of hypnosis with songs like, Ghosts, Seventeen, and Destroy Everything You Touch.
