Vancouver, British Columbia plays home to the 9th annual Vans Slam City Jam at the Pacific Coliseum May 3-5, 2002. Sanctioned by World Cup™ and considered to be the skateboard competition in North America, Vans Slam City Jam will be the first stop on the 2002 Vans Triple Crown™ of Skateboarding. The event will be broadcast by NBC Sports to millions of viewers as part of their coverage of the Vans Triple Crown™ series. Over 200 of the world’s top professional skateboarders will compete on a “street” course and “vert ramp” for international recognition and a prize purse valued at over $75,000 USD.
