Vancouver, British Columbia plays home to the 9th annual Vans Slam City Jam at the Pacific Coliseum May 3-5, 2002. Sanctioned by World CupT and considered to be the skateboard competition in North America, Vans Slam City Jam will be the first stop on the 2002 Vans Triple CrownT of Skateboarding. The event will be broadcast by NBC Sports to millions of viewers as part of their coverage of the Vans Triple CrownT series. Over 200 of the world's top professional skateboarders will compete on a "street" course and "vert ramp" for international recognition and a prize purse valued at over $75,000 USD.
